MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
Hello, does anybody know how to change a brake lever on a Magura mt7??
1st gen or 2nd generation MT lever?
my friend broke his at BPW back in March. its was the 2nd gen lever i think as the bike was only a 1 month old carbon jekkyl
he had to order the full lever from Germany for about £85
the lever blade on the latest version isnt replaceable as its held in place by a rivet....so you need the whole unit
OP i'm guessing that you snapped it where the barrel adjuster is on the lever? it seems to be a weak spot to an otherwise very good brake
It involves a hammer - just press-fit not riveted as far as I can see. You can find videos for the old style lever on the same channel.
I'm not sure. How can I tell? The brakes came with my bike last November and have the toolless adjustment
Whole unit o man. I broke a cm off the lever and twisted it a bit.
Yep that's what I got, thanks for the help
But why? You can clearly see him peel off the sticker and expose the pivot at 4:05 in the video (
) and the different levers are listed as spares in the 2016 catalogue ( http://www.magura.com/media/2392/magura_dealerbook_2016_lowres_deen_bike.pdf )
As above, I thought you could get spare Gen 2 lever blades from Magura...
Are Gen 2 "2015 or newer"? https://www.bike-components.de/de/Magura/Bremshebel-2-Finger-fuer-MT6-MT7-MT8-ab-Modell-2015-p49690/
l.e. plus the cover kit, if you care about that: https://www.bike-components.de/de/Magura/MT7-Cover-Kit-p49302/
MT8 lever busted 6 weeks ago:£150.......made me so happy
Ah ha! The stickers reveal the pin a plan on pounding out.
Is "Royal blood" really nessecary for a bleed or just any mineral oil?
You can use any mineral oil of similar viscosity.
