Just seen a photo taken today of a rather large earth mover / digger (from what I can make out) mover felling right on the jump line under Evian, anyone know any details?

No details but they felled and cleared a huge area North of there some time ago. It is a commercial forest.

From the Friends website

Car Park 13 on Winterfold will be shut weekdays until Christmas due to forestry work on Winterfold Heath

Forestry was one thought, also removing the big jump line as possibility (not that I was ever going to hit it).

I'm worried about losing Evian, it's one of my favorites there.

and? that jump trail wasn't meant to be there anyway! surprised it hasn't been pulled down already

As Jambalaya says, its a working forest, the trails are in a pretty poor state at the moment anyway as they are being hammered by too many riders out in the wet weather.

ride some other trails and come back to those being demolished/overused when its all over. there are tonnes to choose from.

Just heard from my buddy up there today, all covered in felled trees so sounds like felling rather than localised trail destruction. Oh well, plenty of other trails to use.

Sadly the Crablogger was not involved.

Macallister will be making sure the trails are destroyed for sure. surprised they lasted for so long to be honest.
