I'm looking out of the window towards Hollingworth lake at the moment, which is presently bathed in glorious sunshine. We've got off far lighter than most with the snow. Unusual for here! We've had a bit but it seems to be thawing. Ideal conditions really. Better than your more southerly options at the moment, I'd imagine

We had that sun about 8.30 this morning in Sheff. It's now turned to fog...
Sunshine in Castleton at the moment. Untouched snow is powder, possible ice underneath from last week. Most side roads have been ploughed and gritted (not all) but not in great condition. They are like riding on sand!
macc forest is rideable. charity lane was almost all ridable on saturday night. couple of drifts that were too deep. might be a little icy now, but passable with care.
Just a heads up that Charity Lane is particularly unpleasant at the moment, mostly unrideable though slush and snow rather than too much ice.
