on a 29r bike and forks could you use road wheels/tyreson it? may be daft but im fik

Road wheels have a different hub width so if you can pinch your frame in 5mm or so, it might be forced to work.

If your 29er is steel and rim braked then yes. If al (or carbon) I'd be concerned about the difference in spacing and 'squeeze' required. If it has discs then there aren't m/any road wheels with disc hubs. Saying all that, no reason you can't just throw road tyres on your existing wheels, no need for actual road wheels.

i was thinking building some mtb hubs on road rims for rim width for road tyres

My cross bike has disc mount and 135mm (MTB) rear hub spacing. Was running FSA road disc wheels (130mm spacing) no problems, but have now got XT hubs with Open Pro road rims.
FSA wheels FS on classifieds!

If you wnt to build some hybrid wheels, have a look at the Halo rims - I got 2 for £17.99 each and they have built up into some nice solid road wheels. A pair of Conti Sports on there and a really nice ride.
