Possibly looking at getting a new light for the helmet and was looking at the lumicycle range earlier.
Only problem is how good is the helmet mount? It doesn't look that secure to me (it will be used for rocky peaks rides so needs to be pretty secure).
Would I be better off getting something like an exposure diablo??
Cheers ๐
It's fine in terms of stability, it does mean the light sits high on your helmet and you need to run an extension lead to the light unit, but as Peak-based rider, I always found it worked okay, certainly never fell off. The downside is the cable plus I think the current LED head units are slightly heavier than a Diablo or a Joystick.
The Exposure mount is neater and the light's self contained, which is nice. Have a think about burn times though, if you want to run full power on a Diablo, you only get an hour or so, which means you either run lower levels or use a Piggyback. I have a Diablo and a Joystick, use the Diablo with a Smudge-made dual-cell Piggyback which gives about three hours on full power and is neat enough to mount low down at the rear of the helmet.
Generally I'd probably go for the Exposure unless you already have the Lumi light(s) / battery and are just aiming to use one on your head.
