So I spent a happy evening a couple of days ago going over my bike, cleaning and lubing, checking bolts, that sort of thing.

After thoroughly cleaning the chain I decided, given the fantastic weather we'd been having (and was forecast to continue at that point), to use the trial pot of Squirt dry lube I found in the garage. It's now wetter than an otter's pocket and I'm off to the FoD tomorrow. Should I re-clean and re-lube with wet lube, put wet lube over the dry lube or stop worrying about it and just bloody ride?

Isn't Squirt considered "universal"?

No idea. The bottle says to allow drying time before use in wet conditions, but I thought it was primarily a dry lube.

I think it's meant to dry over night. Take some with you as it has a reputation of being good but not lasting well on a long ride.

Squirt needs overnight after application to dry.

Its all weather and copes well with mud and wet filth but doesn’t like being frozen and will freeze. There is  a variant that isn’t sensitive to freezing conditions but I haven’t tried it.

Major caveat, squirt doesn’t like traces of conventional lube although it doesn’t mind the OE thick gloop. Applying it to a chain that’s had normal lubes previously applied is going to result in a black mess that doesn’t work well.
