I'm looking for a jacket I can wear throughout the year. I have a PACLITE waterproof so it doesn't need to fulfill that role. Been looking at Gore Bike Wear stuff with windstopper front and zip off arms but they are dear. Anyone have any thoughts? And is there really a 3-season jacket out there?

I have a Gore Alp X SO jacket which will do all that plus with the right/extra layers underneath will go through winter. Will also go some way to replacing a full blown waterproof shell, as very water resistant/proof.
Expensive but lots of jackets in one

I HAVE AN OPINION!

Turn your "Caps Lock" off before posting.

I have an Endura Windchill, excellent value. It's more a Spring, Autumn and light-Winter jacket and isn't a full waterproof (I had it on for a while today but it was too hot). In summer I wear layers if its cooler or a gilet if necessary.

Gore is excellent kit, you get what you pay for.

What's the sizing like on the Gore Alp X So? I'd usually take a Medium in most things.

I found the Alp X to be a smaller/slimmer fit than usual Gore jackets in which im always a L so went XL and it fits a treat

Karrimor Event jacket for £90?

Loving mine, big vents so not too hot, and stayed waterproof in some pretty hideous Scottish weather...

Alp X SO is from GORE BIKE WEAR's performance line, so will come up a bit tighter as it has a slimmer fit than the Phantom SO jacket.
