The lockout on my revs stopped working on a cold ride last night. Everything else works fine. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix it?

The lockout on my coil Revs stopped working a year ar more ago, never been able to suss out what the problem is or how to fix it.
I replaced the whole damping cartridge due to another issue with losing travel and even that didn't fix it.
I await any helpful answers as well!

The lockout normally stops working when you lose some oil from the damping chamber into the lower leg of the fork, I think. I am guessing that it can cope with a small amount of oil loss, but then gets to a point where the lockout fails to work.

It happened to my Reba's and a DIY service was all it took to get it working again.

Check you've got all your travel.

The lockout is hydraulic and needs damping oil to function. The oil can lek into the lower leg, which robs you of travel and the lockout stops working. A new O ring or two and a service cures it.

The lockout on my Pikes went just before xmas. Was hoping a service at TFT will sort it.

Ringo, it's all on the SRAM site if you look hard enough. But if you've still got all your travel it might be something else.

Try replacing all the seals in the right leg.

My revs lost their lockout, followed a few days later by half the travel. The issue being the seal around the pushrod had weakened and oil could gradually trickle down into the lowers. You can still have all your travel and this problem (though you will loose your travel over the next day or so if this is the case). replacing all the seals fixed this.

When was the last time all the seals were replaced? In my experience they generally last a year (of heavy riding) before replacement is needed.

The manual you need should be here:
http://www.sram.com/en/service/rockshox/view.php?catID=1&subcatID=12

Well im pretty sure the service at tftuned changes all the seal and this was only 6 months ago. these forks are less than 2 yrs old. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Contact TF then maybe see if they can sort it? They have a guarantee that I belive lasts 6 months.

Call them and see what they say, the worst it can be is "no"

EDIT: turns out it's only 3 months. They should have replaced all the seals and the oil.

Perhaps get the service kit for the MOCO leg and see if that makes a difference.

Care to go into a bit more detail mate, might give it a try before sending mine off to TFT.

on the top right leg take the circlip off then pull the lever off. Remove the motion control with a 24mm socket or adjustable spanner then it just pulls out. At the bottom of it youll see a kidney shaped metal thing now when you turn the dial at the top this should also turn. When the dials in its locked off position the holes at the bottom should be totally covered and mine wasnt. Using a small flat screwdriver i prised off the kidney shaped thing and repositioned it into the correct position. Ih ave no idea if this is a longterm solution but for now it works ๐Ÿ™‚
