Apologies for a 'what tyre' question but looking for suggestions to replace the venerable 26" HR 2.35 I've used successfully as a rear. The old 2.35 fits and works well for me but they start to leach Stans out the sidewalls eventually.

HR2 2.3 looked to be ideal but it's bigger and too tight a fit in the carbon stays/arch on the full suss. Tried a Smorg 2.25 but that's even bigger.

Any suggestions for a rear same size as 2.35 HR but TR. I don't change tyres through all year riding and I mainly ride rocky/rooty stuff and hardpack trail centres here in SW Scotland and Lakes and holidays somewhere sunny - not too bothered about mud performance.

Thanks
Vince

LUST Highroller? Pretty heavy but otherwise should do the job.

Sizing is a pain, I'd usually say one of the specializeds, butcher or purg or the old eskar, but they're similiar sized to the hr2.

The Specialized tyres get mentioned a fair bit but I think the 2.3 sizing will be too large - as Northwind mentioned. Think I might have to look at what most manufacturers offer in a 2.1 casing that's not a lightweight XC racing tyre.
