I'm doing a CC bikepacking TransAlp in a few weeks and would like some tips on lightweight shoes that pack up small and are suitable for hotel restaurants, town exploration etc. All my trainers make my sade pack explode.
Thought about Tom's, any other suggestions?

Vivo barefoot, particularly if you get the simplest styles and take the insoles out, roll or fold to next to nothing and are great.
This (or similar cheaper version from Aldi. Lidl etc)
another vote for vivobarefoot, I can take 4 pair of shoes on holiday for every 1 pair my daughter takes.
Just go to your local SportsDirect or equivalent and look at the options.
I bought a set of the watersports shoes, but I just wanted campsite shoes.
I've just an old pair of Gucci slides* or Teva sandals I take. Stap them on top of the bags or rack.

FIve Ten Sleuth slip ons do look like slippers though. In fact, I've had a pair as slippers for the two years I've been working from home and they are indestructible.
after farrrrrr too much time looking* I just got something from Tadeevo, look like a normal trainers from the top, proper sole that should be ok to walk about in, made me giggle with the floatylightness when I picked them out the box, squish flat, just about to give them their first proper trip
*not cheap but figured I was eating heavily into my hourly rate wasting time looking at shoes so should just buy something
I bought some very light weight running shoes from decathlon for a trip where weight was a premium.
They are still trucking on 3 years on. The do take up quite a bit of space
Every time I've been bike packing I've just worn my bike shoes everywhere.
I don't go to fancy restaurants much and normally never while bike packing!
I have a couple of pairs, ultra light, uppers squash down, comfy like wearing slippers and look great (subjective I know, but most of the options above are a bit meh). Like MCTD I have 5:10 Sleuth slip ons I use as slippers (and a spare pair I bought in the sales for when the originals finally die which looks like being some time off) and the HUs are far lighter and pack smaller. As with all Adidas I seem to need to size up by half a size.
You can probably get some money off with a discount code on the Adidas app too.
Same as NBT not quite as loud. Also easier to slip on than bike shoes for a mid night wee
I would go with the Toms or similar.
I’d second a pair of Toms. Very comfortable and pack down flat.
