Got hold of a 2nd hand Swift and enjoyed the first few rides. As many have said, not the lightest but v well balanced. I've always tried to run light, so wonder if anyone has reduced the weight and seen a noticeable difference?

And any recos for a lightish tubeless wheelset for it?

Cheers

Saving weight on the wheels will certainly make the most noticeable difference then swapping other components of course makes a difference, how much is rather subjective. Certainly there's not much point in going 'full weightweenie' on a Swift, but shaving a few pounds off, and definitely on the wheels, can make a significant difference. I recently rode some BOR/FRM wheels and was very impressed by them.

i weighed the back wheel on my swift

Mavic TN719 rim, sapim race spokes and XT large flange M765 hub, rim tape + XT skewer (no disc or cassette)

1257g

quite weighty when compared to a hope hoop or these

Just got some Stans 29er Crests on Superstar trizoid hubs and sapim CX ray spokes with alloy nipples for a new build and they weighed 1629g for the pair with rim tape but no skewers or rotors. Cost me £300

It's definately lighter in summer! South Downs mud is very sticky and heavy.
