Hi recently got a spicy 316 (all mountain 6” inch travel bike)and would like to lighten up the wheels ...firstly by tyres then maybe going for lighter wheel set any recommendations anyone??

nobbly nic & hope hoop stans 355/flow depending on how fat you are.

I've a set of Hope Hoops with the DT Swiss 5.1's that were originally bought for my Enduro, run them with Nobby Nic 2.4's and a stans kit - really suited it.
Weights
Front 920g
Rear 1030g
Tyres 650g
Stans rim tape and latex 100g
Also look at either an XT or XTR cassette and Ashima brake discs.
Possibly Hope Hoops and Stans Flows may be a better choice now.

We have DT Swiss EX1750s with Nobby Nic 2.25s on our Pronghorn 150s. Light but really strong.
