The battery case for my Trailtech Eclipse light is making a sort of wet hissing noise increasingly loudly during discharge and in fact the hissing has now turned into a whistle, which stops as soon as I switch off.
Is it about to burst into flame?

Li-ion cells should be silent in use. Any gassing noise indicates something is seriously wrong.

Also the gas is poisonous.
