I'm on the verge of buying a hard tail with biggish travel and keep looking at cotic souls I'll have around 800 to spend but wondered what others choices would be?
I've got a trek fuel ex8 but fancied a hard tail aswel...

You should get one because they are ace.
Only a bit similar. I have an on one 456 evo 2. It is probably a bit more of a blunt instrument than a soul, but I love it. It is considerably cheaper if that interests you, but as it is a bit heavier you need to put more in to get something out.
Souls are simply gorgeous in my opinion, but I couldn't justify the extra outlay.
