Anyone know why my lefty has run out of damper? The spring rates fine but the damper is at the very last twist on the nob..??
Dunno, how long since it was last serviced?

Serviced?? Hahahha erm.. nope can't ever remember that being done..
The only thing I do is every 3 months or so (depending on conditions) take the stanction off and clean the leg and lube it.. I've run it quite hard pressure wise cos I like it like that.. But having not used it for ages I jumped on it at the weekend and noticed, or rather renoticed, it's reletive lack of damping...
Servicing.. hahahaha
Then maybe it's an idea where to start?
Lot of guides on MTBR for home servicing, if you don't fancy splashing the cash, with a specialist.

I had occassional issues with my Lefty losing travel slowly, this was down to the needle bearings slowly slipping down the damper, a quick removal of top cap and re-adjustment kept it working fine. Mine was a more basic Speed DLR (so no RS or Fox damper) and a bit more easy to work on at home apparently.
I believe TFtuned is now the place for lefty if it needs more major work.
Nope TF Tuned only deal with the post (older) Manitou Lefty's, so if you've a FFD, TPC or SPV lefty you need Thumbprint, Noah's arc, Alf Jones in Wrexham or if you like taking your life into your hands maybe... Evan's?
ah right, makes sense. I've used Tony before to have a new cart and he was most helpful indeed, took a while, but that's understandable with the workload he must have. Rather have a good job done and wait for it than the crap one done quickly, slow and steady wins the race after all.
