Hi all,
I have just moved to north Leeds (Adel)and to be honest I am getting a bit lonely!
I'm currently not working so have all the time in the world, but I have always struggled with the long rides on my own, both on the road and off!
Also, I have no idea where to go!

So, if anyone is after some company themselves or wants to provide me with some that would be great!
Just for completeness not that it really matters but I'm 26, timetrial/triathlon (sorry about that) background. Not bad aerobically but only taken up MTB in the last year so skill level leaves alot to be desired!

I'm about mid week quite a lot with shift work, mostly riding road at the moment but keen to get back to MTB now my shoulder is getting better.

I'm 30, on the heavy side with blue eyes and tired legs!

Now then. I used to be out round that neck of the woods, Much goodness to be had in the meanwood valley trail, and some good bridleway out frm Eccup res to Kirby overblow.

Stainburn isn't far from you either, if you fancy a guided ride of the natural stuff in Norwood (or "over't'road") a mate and I were planing something up there next week, and of course there's trail building first sunday of every month.

I'm based in Pateley Bridge in Nidderdale (45 minutes away from you), but my regular riding buddy is about to depart to Sheffield, so i'd be up for mid week rides around west yorkshire/Dales. Be good to getting out with someone who might challenge my fitness a bit too.

That sounds great.

Jim - drop me an email via my email in profile if you are heading out on the road my way, I tend to ride for 2-3 hours Monday-Wed, then 4-5 hours Thurs-Sat sometimes split into 2 sessions.

Unklehomered, that would be great if I could join you next week, off to coed-y at some point possibly next week but not sure when yet. Otherwise I'm free.
I was up your way today actually, Pateley bridge. Made the mistake of leaving the 11-21 cassette on and didn't realise how many 15% hills there would be!
I will be doing lots of riding in the Dales I hope, I will only be working 2 days a week starting in October so I have plenty of time!

Oh and trail building sounds fun, where is that?

If you drove to PB odds on you went past Stainburn (where I build), its on the big hill just after you cross a bridge over the top of the reservoir, before you drive past the Sun Inn. (assuming you went that way and not through Otley).

www.singletraction.co.uk.

Yeah, I have a single 36t ring on my HT, Boy do i feel it if I've not been out for a while!

Wheredya ride today?

I'm based in Headingley, but due to idiotic amounts of commitments, wunt be getting any decent riding in until late Sept. Be good to meet up and ride after that, though!

I can join you for an early one on Friday or possibly something tomorrow afternoon (but I'm not sure what time I'll be back yet).

Comradedave showed me a bit of the Meanwood Valley trail etc last week, happy to pass on what I can before I depart again in a couple of weeks.

Email is in profile.

Daz.

Starting at the cow and calf cafe at 6.30 going over ilkley to the pond then over to keighley gate, circle, rocky valley, White wells and back. Difficulty about 3.5 out 5 in technicality and around a 2.5 in fitness. If you could mke it Tom il introduce you to the north Leeds boys.

I will be going for a short and sharp ride in the morning after a long day in the dales today so I won't be joining you in the morning Sancho I'm afraid. I will wander along to crosstrax at some point though!

Was a good fun ride today, not too fast -- very social, checked out some lines in horsforth quarry and up near the old hospital in cookridge, then did the tech woods from woodside to the a65, then the canal to Thackley then Esholt to ride one of the DH lines, then up through Guiesley to the Chevin, rode out to Bramhope then back just before the down pour, a good day out.

Hi Tom, we do a night ride out of North Leeds every week, usually Wednesday, pretty much 52 weeks a year and your welcome to come; we start out on Gledhow Valley Road but usually pass through Adel, it's a decent paced ride.

If you want a regular road ride then Tues/Thurs/Sat morning at 9.30am outside Lawnswood cemetery, 16-18mph, usually around 50 miles but there is always fit lads who'll up the pace if you want it.

If you really want to test yourself then Thursday evenings 6.30pm at Lawnswood for the chain gang and get your legs ripped off by the Brownlee brothers
