Have a go hero, weekend warrior or the other one?
They all sound cheesy - can I make up my own?

thought about it but i would soon get bored as the laps are short.
i would feel like a mouse on his wheel especially as the riding around the area is stunning.

i like what has been done so far its exellent but race around im not sure .

Agree defo v cheesy names! I'm entering the 'Weekend warrior' (renamed to 'not all that slow') category. I'd rather at the top half of the field than at the back as I'm assuming I would be if I entered the racer category.

I think that short laps may be a good change from the usual, should really be able to learn the course, time passing places, etc.

No idea where I would be, I think I ride downhill slower than I go uphill?

I also think I should ride there first before entering a race, it sounds very technical!

When you are a wimp like me it sounds technical! I keep hearing about it. I've been told I won't like it, told not to go on my own etc!

The category names are cheesy but we feel they better than "fun" and "sport" and we didn't want to get trapped into age related racing. (Terrahawk you can have your own unique category if you want)

As for short laps, don't assume we are just sticking to the existing red trail, there are plenty of other routes in the quarry.

We expect the racers to be doing 12-15 minute laps, weekend warriors 15-20 minute laps and the have-a-go heros at 20+ minutes. We don't think you are going to get dizzy.

There is also a singlespeed prize

xherbivorex, turn up at 09:00 get a Hi-Viz vest, flag and radio and you laugh all you like.

I'm going in the middle one despite having a BC racing licence (they'll give 'em to anyone), unless there is a 40+ part time vegetarian with a bad knee on a black bike category.

There are now some new sections in the quarry I had a couple of laps this afternoon to test them out, lots of fun big berms and some tabletops. Also a short but killer climb. There is also a new section been added to the existing red near the end runs parallel to offer a opportunity for overtaking in a race table top and double in it for added fun.
