A mate and I had planned (well before Christmas) to head off for a biking weekend this coming weekend - except we both haven't done anything else about it.

Given the snow, what is likely to be clear enough for some decent biking? I realise the snow is melting at a decent rate but we also need to sort out accommodation wherever we go, so some pointers would be handy, thanks.

The problem with the melt is slush, mud and frost-heave. I'm not one for normally recommending trail centres but that is likely to be your best option. I'd think that Kirroughtree would have escaped/recovered from the bulk of the snow.

Cheers...I was thinking Dalbeatie and Mabie, but then thought probably not as I think that area did get hit by a lot of snow...I'll do some more digging round there perhaps, thanks.

Arran, was over yesterday, no snow or slush below about 500m, plenty good riding below that.

This thread suggest Kirroughtree is mostly blocked by fallen trees.
