How tough are they? I can't quite help thinking of them as commencal-alikes, which is bound to be unfair.
Convince me they can stand up to a bit of weighty use and abuse.

Pretty tough, they're designed to ride in he alps, so should be, I'm 6'4 no fly weight and ride a 2010 514, if you're a bifter then maybe an orange 5 would be best. 😉

Orange 5 is on the list, but they are silly money second hand. 🙁

My large 214 has not missed a beat but I have the build of a racing snake so is not too stressed. Physique genetic rather than training based - skinny with no muscle as I found this evening while trying to pedal through the sticky mud fest. Back on topic - nice bike...

I've been hammering the sh*t out of mine for 12 months now and i'm still very impressed

I'm 6ft 4 and about 15 stone

The wheels didn't take much abuse and the frame cracked, but Lapierre sent me a new frame within a week

Highly recommended!!
