My Zesty BB is not turning that freely (although it doesn't feel gritty). I've taken the top hat sleeves off but the design is different from normal HT2 BBs and I can't access the bearings to put fresh grease in. Therefore I assume I need a new XTR press fit BB.
Has anyone got any experience of removing and fitting new ones?

Ordered tools for NickF and they will be here on the 20th Nov as Madison no longer have any in stock.

Just me or do they not last very long?

I hope it will last till then; the extra resistance will make me fitter afterall. will have to buy Nick a pint or set up a shared ownership.
I can't find anything else on the web about them so I assumed they were OK, not so sure now - the cup of water somehow getting into the frame on wet ride probably doesn't help either.

did your new BB fix the issue with the lack of free turning? Im just putting together a spciy build now and have noticed the crank doesnt spin freely, maybe 3/4 turn if you give it a shove (no chain attached).

thx

You need to be careful with this BB, my gf has it on her Zesty, we found the extra resistance was one of the bearings had seized, and it was spinning in its seat in the frame. New bearings fixed it, I was worried the old bearing would have increased the size of the hole where it polished it but new ones have been fine.

It was a bike shop job, one of the only jobs I didn't feel I could tackle ๐Ÿ™
