No great with computers so could do with a bit of advice,
Is there any way of telling if my lap top is HD, it does have a HD socket on the side of it
thanks
If it had an HDMI socket it should work - You need to set the graphics card to either clone the screen or extend (which ever you want). YOur monitor maybe either HD ready or full HD - both of which arn't a major problem.
Have you a model number/make?
If from a distance the laptop looks great but closeup all its details are lost then your laptop is not HD.

??
He was asking if the laptop was HD.
I thought Hd was only relating to the resolution of televisions etc not everyday objects.
this question makes very little sense, what do you want to do?
its a hewlett packard note book lj 61
what i want to do is get a hd helmet cam, my worry is that if it only works in HD my lap top wont work with it
the cam im thinking of getting is the countour cam, I may be way of the mark and it work no probs, but I thought it best to ask
thanks again

HDMI is a video output not input - What type of camera are you getting?
I think your question is irrelevant - HD just means the pixel dimensions like in a camera - you screen is not really an issue - more of an issue is the processing power and whether it is capable of editing HD video!
your spec:
CPU AMD Sempron SI-42 (2.1 GHz)
Graphics chipset ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200
RAM 3 GB
Screen 17.3 inches
1600 x 900 pixels
Hard drive 250 GB
Should be fine - I epect you'll have to upload using USB or via a card?
thanks
