As the title.
Got a kona entourage, want something that rides similar, but a bit lighter and can winch to the top.
Convinced myself that the 650b and long front end of the process 153 (maybe fitting an angleset) means i should only lose a little bit of capability over the entourage (170mm 26"), but i end up for a bike real good for UK DH, gaps, jumps drops etc. Im not a DH racer, so accept i will lose speed on a DH trackj vs a DH bike.
The entourage was more than enough for me in the alps, riding the bike parks black etc, process 153 should just be enough.
What do owners reckon?
Wouldn't the Process 167 fit the bill better?
Not sure the process is the one to go for if you want to have a lighter bike... my mates one was 34lbs stock. With a lot of £££ upgrades is now closer to 31 but still weight considering another brands bike of the same travel/spec would be a few lbs lighter.
The process 167 the is an entourage with air shocks, proper seattube, and a longer front end, would pretty much be like for like.
The process will be replacing 36lbsish bike. Im not after an all day bike but a dh bike I can cope with a bit of pedallibg around on.
I rode one in the alps for the week and found it a thoroughly enjoyable ride. Bottomed out the rear on one occasion - on bike park stuff - the bike really came to life on natural trails. If i was you going for less travel would be fine...especially if upfront you have a Pike as from my experiences with them a little more pressure and bottomless tokens makes them feel a lot more like a big dh bruser! You should try and test ride both!
yeah ive used my 153 at BPW, Cwmcarn, aston, porc, megavalanche etc, it is very very good, and its also a great enduro all mountain bike
id love to try a 167 though!
