I've never owned a road bike. Never wanted one until recently when the realities of Pembrokeshire life kicked in, there just is no decent mountain biking here!

I keep looking at road bikes and they are all a bit samey and dull but the Honky Tonk with it's skinny steel frame looks right and also a bit 'alternative'.

I'm never going to be a 200 mile a day road biker but for commuting and winter spins to the beach I think it might be a goer, especially if I can negotiate a special price through a friend of mine...

Tell me why I should/shouldn't please!

Cycling Plus thought it was great, no personal experience to add though.

I had one, and used it for my 15 mile country lane commute. Unfortunately, my work moved to about 100 yds from my house... As a result, it sat unused until i sold it, here.

I'd never owned a road bike, nor have i owned one since, so my opinion isn't really that valid. But i enjoyed owning it. It felt sprightly (as you'd hope, given that i'm more used to MTBs), and was pretty comfortable.

Sorry i can't be more constructive, but at least there's some nice photos to look at!

Had a Honky Inc., they're nice bikes but also pretty dull to ride (they are fairly heavy steel frame after all). For commuting, light touring and winter riding they're great, although I wouldn't want one as my only bike if I did a lot of road riding.
