Recommendations please! I like the look of those Knox Crossmax ones that were reviewed a few months back. I'm 5'10" with 32-33" legs, typical cyclist size thighs but small-ish knees, skinny calves and skinnier ankles. For all-round XC/trail use and mild jumping, no hardcore DH/freeride, on flats.

Is this a subtle hint that I should continue to MTFU and relish the interesting new marks?

Raceface Rally might work for you, they're quite flexible around the kneecap. Stay away from the 661 standalone shin pads, think they're in the veggie range, they're awful- more heat and discomfort and pressure than proper shinpads, and half the protection.

I struggled for shinpads as well, ended up with a set of POCs for DH use but they're overkill for everyday riding, and expensive. Fab though.

A load of googling later and I'm about to order some Troy Lee Lopes guards in S/M...

only just seen this thread...
the Dianese knee/shin armour fit skinny legs well. Although some people reckon the knee part can slip away from the knee in a crash, I've found them ok.

If you don't mind wearing bibs or a bit of padding on the thigh then have a look if you can still get a set of the dainese viking bibs, they are like the knee and shin pads but they don't fall down at all, and they are very comfy for riding in,
or if your not a fan of bibs try the Dainese Core Short Evo, haven't tried these myself but they looks just as good,
Both a bit on the pricey side though.

I'm not really a lycra person anymore - they look good for more crazy riding though!

I've taken a punt on the Troy Lee Lopes in the XS/S - had a Wiggle voucher to use up and they were cheap on there. I just hope the XS/S is a man's size not a unisex/youth size!

Troy Lee Lopes are here! Fit very well. Looking forward to being able to test them - serious bargain at less than 1/3 RRP!
