Courtesy of Sam from his very own collection. SS initially then gears when a)the spring arrives or b)my legs give out!

Beautiful frame set.

That looks gorgeous. Take off the wheel decals and it will be perfect.

Door needs to be sanded down and repainted though.

Yeah, door has been on my to do list for a good long while. Maybe it’ll happen next year! Was planning on stealth rims but decals are painted on. May have to buy some replacement ones in stealth to go over them.

Thanks

Great looking bike. What bars are on it?

Thanks
Giant Connect XR bars. Gentle flare - effectively the same as a Cowbell but only £16.99. Suits me

Maybe just the photo, but looks like no EBB,.which I thought all Singulars had?

You’re right it’s no EBB. Most Singulars do, but think the Kite and the Peregrine don’t. Hoping I can get lucky and run it without a tensioner and get magic chain length 🤞🏻

No EBB on the MK2 Kite (horizontal dropouts on the original). Peregrine has an EBB and so does my custom Ti Kite (and my steel custom one :o).

looks great. most rim decals that arent obvious stickers are waterslide transfers. they can be removed with superdrug gel nail remover. usual acetone doesnt touch em. ntromorse will also do the trick without effecting the anodising, but its nastier stuff to deal with

Looks good and like those tan walls (what size are they btw?) excellent bikes. Mine is currently used for gravel duties and in true singletrack fashion, it's been down stuff it really shouldn't be on and came out smiling. enjoy

Thanks all. Will see if I can remove the decals otherwise apply some stealth versions over the top.
Tyres are 700x42

Lovely that. Those Hope Tech XC wheels were unloved when they came out for being unfashionably narrow however they work very well for a gravel bike, I had the same and ran WTB Resolute 42c. Perfect.

Yeah, hoped that the Hope wheels will work so good to hear they’ve had gravel duties successfully before 👍🏻

Thanks JV - think I’ve got my EBB info wrong.

I think Singular is one of those brands that a lot of people have fondness for. I had an early Swift and rode it flat bar and monstercross and it was lots of fun. Regret selling that!

Slow build but think I’ll work with SS for now and see how the legs hold up!

Haha, yes John I found a magic gear. 36:16 is a nice starter for the hills and flats near me.

Very happy with the bike.

That's a beautiful looking bike! I'd keep it SS, but I'm a bit of a nutter.

40:16 should work too, then.

Thanks all. Sorry John, gear ratios and chain length is mystic stuff for me. I got lucky here. How is it calculated that 40:16 the same chain length as 36:16? Thanks

The Kite paint colour + tan walls always looks good.
Heck, Singulars always look good, full stop; they've always come in some truly excellent colours.
Please don't anyone take that as an excuse to post one that's had an off day, by the way.
