Very tempted to swap my XC2 for a KM-810 - Anyone know when the likely date of release as I see Pre-Manufacture versions are out there.
I hear the On-One should be aroound £500 VS the Kinesis which is £1000 so maybe I should wait for the On-One? Should be a nice riding HT - not so harsh as my XC2 which IMHO is a lovely bike esp for winter riding and local XC trails.
Anyone - or is it just me - will I have the only KM-810 in the country 🙂
Anyone heard of the release of these to the market - date? I saw a pre-release for sale via STW thread last week but...
Hi Foxyrider, sent you a couple of mails yesterday, but they got spat back! [I think your e.mail in your profile is out of date]. Anyway here's what was in the mails;
Frame will be finished late March [a little later than I had hoped] and we will probably fly in back orders.
The med. size weighs just over 1kg, so it is a very light frame and about half the price of the equivalent SCOTT. It's not up on my site yet, so I've attached some more info for you.
Details on the On-One are a bit sketchy, so I'm not really sure how it will compare. I'm pretty sure it's aimed more at longer travel singletrack use, not so much of a superlight race machine as ours, but it looks as if the swapable dropouts will make it pretty adaptable.
Not sure how they make it cost £500! It will be interesting to see one [not sure about the kinky down tube]. I'm pretty sure ours will be lighter and better looking!! But I am slightly biased!
Contact me from the Kinesis UK website www.kinesisbikes.co.uk and I will send you geometry and a detailed description.
Cheers,
Dom.
Cheers Dom - No my email is fine but....?
Cheers Dom for the update I'll email you 🙂
As much as I like Kinesis Frames (I have a Kic2), they have priced themselves way to high compared to the likes of On-One.
eBay special, £200 and 1250g.
Although at 1000g that Kinesis looks good.
I'd go for the Kinesis, great products and great customer service.
I was trying to buy a KR810 carbon road frame from them but they have none left in my size! Gutted.
They've been building carbon road frames for a while now and have had carbon rear ends in their MTB frames as well. So not a new line for them.
And that's what I love about this sport and this site... one-to-one direct interested input from manufacturers.
I like the look of the 810, trying very hard to resist replacing my XCPro2 for one!!!
My wife and I both have XC2's as does my neighbour - great frames for £220 and have done me and my wife and neighbour proud! Just fell in love witht he look of the KM-810 - but if it was £800 or £700 woiuld be easier to bite 😉
BigM Let me know your size. We may have a returned or slight second frame we can sort out for you...
Dom, have you got any white Kic2s knocking around in a 60cm and going for bobbins?
Apparently the on-one carbon will be followed by a Whippet xc version presumably similar to Scandal angles but no details on weight or price.
Hi Dom, I'd need a 58, the Biggest size!
According to my LBS you haven't any left.
Is this because you're launching a new carbon road frame..?
Big M, The KR810 carries on into 2010 with some detail changes and new look. I am working on a totally new carbon road frame for 2011 season.
Mail me from www.kinesisbikes.co.uk re possibility of 2nd's frame...
