Has anyone got any advice for getting prescription sports glasses for kid's.
My eldest is 11 and is mainly playing football now (mainly in goal). I think he's going to need something better than his everyday glasses which took a bash the other week.
Online places won't deliver kids glasses and anyway, it'd be prudent to try them on first. We're East London / Essex based.
Will pop into Specsavers at some point but they didn't seem particularly helpful on the phone.
I don't think contacts are an option (from what I've read) as he has a significant astigmatism.
Cheers All.
We do them at our Specsavers, but a few don’t.
I can post you some to try and if your local specsavers will measure him (I can ask), we can do that way.
I’m doing some for a cousin this way.
I think they’re about a hundred quid, and there’s no 2 for one or anything.
Daily contacts are certainly an option, and better in the rain etc.
Astigmatism not a problem these days, but only opt for dailies as less likely to get infection, and be really really strict about hygiene and not showering or swimming in them.
Brilliant, Thanks for the reply. I'll have a chat with him tomorrow and get back to you.
I'm not sure what he feels about contacts. Plus he's had glasses for so long now he looks weird without them 🙂
Ive got severe astigmatism in both eyes and cant get daily contacts in my prescription. Monthlys work fine though but for kids im not sure thatd be a great idea.
We've used Boots for 2 sets of sports goggles. They ordered them in glass
Eps to check fit etc then put eldest prescription in once we'd decide which we like.
Come both as goggle strap and arms with elastic retainer as well
