I've got a 3 1/2 year old who is doing really well on her trainer/balance bike but I've been considering introducing her to pedals this summer, when she'll be 4.
Any suggestions for a decent first bike? I'm thinking 16 inch wheels max, maybe smaller.
Obvious answer is an Islabikes Cnoc. Depends on your budget though, as you can get something half decent for a lot less money.
I'd second the Islabike. Brakes that work and very light for a kids bike. I reckon they are pretty god value considering the quality. They also do a trade in when you need to move up a size.
Ridgeback do good kids bikes

Isla bikes thirded or fouthed, whatever we are up to now, my daughter learnt on a puky balance then a 12" wheel sant cruz, she's now on a cnoc 16 and its in a different league to other kids bikes. Even has specially designed little brake levers and undersize bars.... brilliant.
Islabike Cnoc 14 looks like just the job, cheers
Even has flashes of pink to keep my pink mentalist happy.
