Kids bikes with 20&...

[Closed] Kids bikes with 20" wheels. Anything better than the Hoy Bonaly for the money?

My son has the Hoy Bonaly 20". My daughter needs a new bike now. I like the lightness of the Bonaly, and I can't really justify £350 for the Islabike Beinn - is there anything else anyone can recommend? Not bothered about a suspension fork.

She tried a Specialized Hotrock Street 20 with the rigid fork, but I thought it was a bit hefty. I'm also looking at the Ghost Powerkid 20 Rigid on CRC, and the Cube Kid 200... anybody any experience of either of those? Thanks for any advice.

my lad got a 24" bonaly after his 20" beinn. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend a hoybike over an islabike.

Whilst it's probably no cheaper than the Isla bikes, take a look at the Early Rider Belter, very light, well built, and probably good resale value. My boy, who's just 6 is loving his.

Also have a look at the Pinnacle ones. I thought the Ash 20" was quite a bit lighter than the Hoy in the shop. Very well thought out bikes, impressed.

Hat a Hot Rock 20" coming up for sale by the weekend.
The purple'ish colour.
Used for about 3 months then dry stored ever since.
There's some marks on it but no damage.

Thanks. Evans don't seem to do a Pinnacle 20" any more (daughter currently has a Pinnacle Koto 16"). Does anybody have any knowledge of the Ghost or Cube?

Frog 55? A bit cheaper, 8sp vs 6sp. A tad heaviver though (8.8kg vs 8kg?)

Just got a Cuda CP20 for my daughter. It's a nicely put together bike and light too - Cuda Bike Performance range.

I will add that I know the designer - but that's partly why I bought it as she's an ex top level BMXer and now works with kids promoting cycling and BMXing so she's knows her stuff.

Frog do a 52 or 55 ( inside leg). Cheaper than isla little heavier. My son loves his.

Frog was our first dabble with designer kids bikes. Very impressed.

To be honest, both coped fine with second hand Ridgebacks, Spesh and Trek before then, and sold them all on within £10 of what we paid for them.
