Got a new commuter / winter bike with kwik roller sports. Do I replace them with some new delta cruisers from the shed or leave them on? Both 700 X 28mm.
Which are better for puncture proof winter riding?
Thanks
From your vastly more knowledgeable experience of YOUR commute, Which type of puncture do you foresee?
Thorns from hedges and sharp fragments of flint, not so much glass.
Using simple common sense the tyre with the fatter tread depth would be slightly less susceptible to pregnation from shorter thorns but in reality it will come down to luck whether a thorn manages to get through an plant it's hissy seed in your tube.
Tubeless with sealant, armoured carcus tyres or liners are a far better bet if you foresee the problem escalating.. Begs the question though, WTF are folk cutting hedges at this time of year?
Lots of cutting round here in the last few weeks! No idea why, too wet for anything else I guess.
