Any feedback on these - either type, adjustable or top cap type? I wondering if it will give enough clearance to mount an Edge 1000?

What does the top cap one look like without the Garmin mounted - I'm thinking it might fill with gunk fairly quickly?

Not sure what the alternative are, using a Rentall Apex stem 50mm.

thanks

I found using the topcap mount on my hardtail fine, but on my enduro it did leave it a bit exposed, I didn't knock it off, but it did brush my knees a couple of times, so I replaced it with one of the mounts that moved it a bit forward and that was fine. However I ended up getting an edge 25 and going back to the topcap mount as I find the edge 1000 a bit distracting and am not that interested in looking at the figures while riding on my enduro.

No problem getting gunked up, but I rarely ride without a garmin clipped in.

Thanks, interesting. I'm not convinced the mount in that link will clear my stem, I probably need the adjustable version.

Like you, I dont think I need so much info in front of me when I'm riding most of the time, but I did buy the Garmin for navigating trails I'd downloaded, we're spending a lot of time in Switzerland this year, riding stuff I dont know.

I've got a top cap mount with an edge 25. Because the device is so small it's fine. I think I'd get the 'out in front' mount for anything bigger though.

I'm using the adjustable one with and Edge 1000, works fine for me but it's on an XC bike with an 80mm stem.

The size of the 1000 limits the amount of adjustment as the bottom of the Garmin hits the top cap. I'm not sure it would work on a 50mm stem unless you put an extra spacers below it so the top of the 1000 clears the bars.

I'm using one with an edge 200. Even with that I'm uncomfortable about how high it sits - feels very exposed.
