....I've got a bit left over. It's a ring with a rubber seal on it, and I can't for the life of me work out where it goes. I've looked at the exploded diagrams on the website and can't even see it on there. Am I being even more stupid than usual,?

Def not the crown race. Tried it on top of upper bearing and it didn't seem to fit flush. It must be a seal for one of the bearings though mustn't it? Stuffed if I know. Instructions in packet might have been nice but I've never had trouble fitting a headset before.

It sits between the top bearings the compression ring and in between the top hat (top of headset) assembly.

It was on my instructions and is the last thing you put on before the top of the headset.

It doesn't feel like it sits flush but it does because of the rubber.
