What's the best way of getting a stuck piston out? Also would it be wise to replace the seals? I really want to get shot of these brakes as I hate them, but I can't afford another set of Julie hps 🙁
Cheers
Try to get a bit of lube down around the seal, make sure it's not cocked in it's bore(winkle it a bit with a 10mm ring ended spanner),wrap zip ties around the other piston and pump the lever. If you've already removed the caliper then you can try making an adaptor to pump compressed air in instead, usually works but nowhere near as effective on a stuck piston.
New pistons/seals cost about £7 each, make sure you clean the seal housing spotlessly whether you fit a new seal or not, and lube the piston and seal with silicone lube prior to fitting(Hunters, available from plumbers suppliers).
Cheers for the tips mate 🙂 Will try this coupled with lots of swearing at the weekend.
