So, it's finally happened. I've joined the seatpost revolution and fitted a brand-x ascend to my bike. It's brilliant. Why did no-one tell me this before?*
But... having fitted it, I've got a thingy left over. It wasn't in the instructions as far as I could see. I don't know where it's meant to go and the post seems to work fine. It's got a hole in the middle for a cable but I'm not sure where it would fit. Any thoughts?
*Others may have tried to tell me this before...
So that you can use the cable the t’other way around?
It goes over the cable head to give a better fit when you put the head into the actuator.
It’s not actually needed and you’ll be totally fine without it.
As above, the cable head sits in it, to give a marginally stronger cable pull.
That goes around the cable head/fixed end when you have the head at the base of the dropper post.
Oh, annoying. I don't really want to undo all the cable. I'll wait until I need a new cable and I've long since forgotten where I put it...
