We are halfway through our Alps trip and have spent the last three days in Livigno riding some great trails. Steep and dusty.  Tomorrow we move on to Lenzerheide to see what's on offer.

Yesterday in The Borders to the North of Kelso. It was a little driech and The Cheviot disappeared just before I started to 'enjoy' a test of character and fortitude. There is one terrible picture and it's not worth posting!!

Oldschool ride for us today.
35 miles 1300 meters of climbing, a headwind so savage that we couldn't even roll down hill, one pub, one sandwich and finished off in the local brewery.

Great Glen Way; escort duty at the sharp end of the ultra marathon, started at 0100 in Ft Bill and reached Inverness at 1115, just ahead of the winner (and new record holder) and having chatted with the marshals at the 7 checkpoints along the way.  72 miles, mostly off road and 7900' of ascent. Got hosed on for the first two hours but after that mostly dry or a little light drizzle.

I am a little hungry tonight...

2 miles up and down the Bristol to Bath cycle track with my 6 year old with a hot chocolate and marshmallow stop! She wants to go again tomorrow, but a bit further and with ice cream as an incentive instead 🤷‍♂️

Probably our first thing on my own on the hardtail round Ashton Court / 50 Acre Wood / Leigh Woods for an xc ish razz about. Bit of a come down after Dyfi Forest off piste / Dyfi bike park last weekend.

just home after a tiring work week in france. Great to blow a few cobwebs off, on beautiful trails, in surprisingly good weather (between the showers).

East Devon (as per usual 😁)
Got out both days - quick 15km yesterday on my local local trails.
Then this morning 50km out to Woodbury Common. Lots of single-track, bit of DH, bit of gravel, lots of smiles.

Rode the new (to me) RipMo v2. Like my original V1 only just a bit better all round 🙂 Rode some stuff I've been eyeing up for a while, a brand new trail that was fab and then a couple of cold ones at my fav pub in the world 🙂

That'll do pig..

Les Arcs not too shabby 5500m of descent, although almost lost me breakfast on a gondola thanks to whiteroom's free beer and wine.

Got in the car and drove to local woods not that far away, not really a mountain biking woods, but given my doorstep riding, nice enough and not what I'm used to. Some of it was steep and loose, too loose for semi-slicks front and back, and no real trails but enjoyed getting out.

Another ride with Mrsstu today.
Everything from sweating to death in the sun to getting piss wet through in the frequent heavy showers.
20 miles 1500 metres. Nice way to shake off the after effects of ending up in the brewery on yesterdays ride.

80km gravel ride around Oberammergau, Bavaria. 1090m of climbing and 23kmh average. Felt really good just caning it.

Only stopped for a coffee..... Skinny dipped in the river when I got back to the van.

Exploratory ride on a local hill that has piqued my interest for a while. Nothing really showing on Strava so wasn’t expecting much but found some excellent trails amongst the dead ends.

Finally had a bash at Bunton Hush. Cracking descent.

Followed by refreshments. Swaledale never ever disappoints.

Stayed local, blew up the freehub on the ebike Saturday (going to be the second warranty claim in under 250km...). Out on the normal bike yesterday but struggling for energy so just a short one doing a couple of nice descents. Trying to work up the motivation to go ride in the rain at the moment...

Dunwich Dynamo for me with a roady mate - 200km from my door, twice as far as I've ever gone before... and for various reasons outside of my control, starting 5 hours after everyone else! Despite this, more fun than expected..

First day riding in Lenzerheide today.

I'd forgotten how expensive Switzerland was. From lift passes to bread they certainly now how to charge.

Trails are fast and dry.
