Not the sram ones as they seem to be 'powerlock'. Be running a hg94.

Connex ones should work, I'm using them on dura ace and ultegra 10 speed chains. They're very good as well.

looking at the prices poss better off running a wippermann chain with link inc. the 10S8 is similar in price as a hg94. any thoughts on shimano alternatives?

I replaced the Shimano 5600 or whatever it was that came fitted to the Kaffenback with a Wippermann 10S8, works fine with 105 even though it's a gnat's smidge wider.
