i am looking for a commuter, trainer and summertime ss for posing/the pub. the salsa does everything i want it to, but is more than 400 pounds for the frame and forks.

i'm looking for a race feeling geometry frame with options to go both ss and geared, with room for guards and a rack.

the salsa is also steel, with an elegant straight blade fork and comes in size 'massive', ie one that would fit me at 6'5".

it seems like there was a time in history when this kind of thing was two a penny; ie. 'audax' bikes made out of steel.

i could probably get something built for less than the cassseroll, then i could decide on the colour too, hmmm what do you guys think?

Find a brand new unused one on STW classifieds for 275 like I did and decide it was fate?...

Since that photos I have a silver seatpost and rear rack. Looks much nicer. Final touch is a silver stem...
