The fork on the built up 456 is the Rock Shox Revelation RL Dual Air Poplock 20mm
Am i right in thinking the dual air bit means its travel adjustable from 150mm to 120mm?
dual air means it has positive and negative air chambers. Nothing to do with travel adjust. To confirm the specs call on one in the morning.
The travel adjust versions are "dual position air". The "dual air", as Andyl correctly states, is so called because it has separate +ve and -ve air chambers.
Worth a quick call just to make sure.
EDIT: For what it's worth, I have dual position air Revs and don't think I've ever used the travel adjust in this country. Used it a few times on really long climbs in the Alps, but otherwise haven't found it necessary.
it's internally travel adjustable it that you add chips to the air assembly which then shorten its effective length and also the tarvel. I have adjusted the travel of many revaltions to 120mm and even used Reba air assemblies which have a max travel of 120mm in revalations to run them at 120mm. With the beffy lowers you end up with a nice stiff short travel fork.
ah ok, cheers folks
I'm a mechanic so have no issues taking the fork apart as ive serviced a few of mine so how long does it take to take it apart, adjust the travel and refit?
Just done a google search and found the service manual, so cheers anyway my questions are answered ๐
They take me about an hour from rideable bike to rideable bike with plenty of coffee slurps Lee.
