Just caught sight of my team leaders new job description. Seems the eight people in my position he manages will be dropping to two soon. Not great odds. Not a great way to find out either.
Not a great place to be in, you might be lucky, you could be one of the two or it could be the boot up the backside you needed to get another job (assuming you want to mve on). I've been there 3 times and each time I've been lucky enough to end up eventually in a better position. Bloody hard though, you have my sympathy, hope it turns out OK.
And yes it was pretty poor way to find out.
Cheers mate. Could be the motivator I need. Funny thing is, pretty much everyone in there doesn't want to be one of the two less as the work will never drop off. Those who stay will be expected to do four times the work.
I rejoined again last week, after more than 8 months in employment this time! 🙁
