We've managed to get my 12 year old out on his bike the last 3 weekends. Last weekend he even said it was fun!! My local trails are all icy after this week, anybody know what Sherwood Pines is like?

No - been through this morning and it was an icy mess.

It is forecast to rain later so it may thaw and due to be warmer on Sunday, so may be better tomorrow - but muddy!

Bit late but they're not hiring bikes out today due to the risk. So although probably do-able I'd imagine it's definitely type 2 fun. Which reading your post is possibly not what your boy is looking for.

We were supposed to be going for the Crankit race tomorrow at Sherwood Pines, however coupled with the rear mech hanger(which she managed to destroy after riding into a tree on the Hope Line at Gisburn a couple of weeks ago) for my daughters Hup not arriving that ordered over a week ago, and the falling snow here, we won't be going. Last I heard it was still going ahead although I thought that might be dubious considering more snow was forecast, although the daytime is supposed to be warmer. a 5 hour round trip isn't great if it's cancelled or have a nasty off.
