Looking to get an Orange 5 with the rear maxle option. Will this work with my current proII hub or will I need to change it? Have tried to find this out on the net but can't find any reference to it.

Is it worth spending the extra £100 for a maxle over traditional QR?

Thanks for your help

I would have thought a maxle was a 10mm bolt through, so you will need to convert your rear hub

makes the rear end stiffer and the wheel doesn't fall out, so all good.

Yup definitely not a standard qr hub axle size is wrong. I've got it on my marin and it makes the back end a lot stiffer so I'd go with it for £100. Give hope a call (not great at answering emails in my experience) but I'd bet the hub can be converted.

Yes, Pro II hubs can be converted for 10 or 12mm bolt through axles. Kits cost about £15 to £20 for the axle and end caps and then you need to drift it in I think. Sounded like too much potential for a cock-up so I got my LBS to do the swap when I went from 12mm to QR.
