or the nano (tiny thing that could easily get lost somewhere....there doesnt seems to be any other ipods in between ????? whats happened to those luminous colured ones with video on them... where you could even lay the ipod on its side and it still plays (bigger screen too) where have they disapeared to...

When you realise it's a mini-computer, then you will.

Get one of the older nanos second hand, which were a bit bigger, and not touch screen - I liked them much better!

When you realise it's a mini-computer, then you will.

AKA a modern phone without the phone part.

I dropped my touch 4th gen about 8 inches to a laminate flooring last night, the screen exploded. Really not sold on them! The old ones were much tougher, as is my Galaxy S.

I have a blue nano (old one 10 fag packet size) in 8gb. I love it and wouldnt be without it!
It even has a good quality video on it. I got some silicone skins (pack of three for a quid in the local market) with a belt hole in the back. I reckon if i cut out a small hole for the camera and use some velcro, i'll have a pretty good helmet/ bike cam!

I've got the last of the non-touch screen nanos. I was sceptical about them but it was an Xmas pressie ans actually very impressive. So slim yet has a camera, loud speaker and accelerometer. The new touch screen only ones are quite appealing though for ultimate tinyness.

In fact I wish Apple would make an iphone nano based on the older one like i have. Would make the perfect music and phone device to take out on a run.

this is it: [img] [/img]

4th gen one

Here is the one that i have (mines blue).
Its a 5th generation Nano. If you wait till the January sales you might get one a bit cheaper.
Im sure mine was £160, i guess with the hike in VAT etc the price has gone up a bit.

xmas is around the corner
i cant live without an ipod..

How about a cheap mp3 player for the meantime? Ive got a backup one that is 1GB (will hold about a thousand songs which is enough) and cost about £15. It takes a single AAA battery aswell which lasts for hours.

Then you can wait for the sales for an I Pod 😆

Amazon do sales too- you'll find a 5th generation Nano that you can buy on there...

I've got a 1st generation nano I use in my work van 2gb 500 songs. Seems bombproof, put some Sugru around the top and bottom to act like bumpers to also help protect it.

Could also look on ebay for cheap nanos.

There is a new Sony E-series Walkman that looks pretty much like the nano.

£80 for a 8 Gb. Better value than a iPod perhaps?

Works with iTunes (I prefer to use WMP) if you have too.

Bet the headphones are better too!

I'd linky but I'm on t'iphone...

Not hard is it, I bet two brussel sprouts wired up would be better.

nope I guess not.

Forgot to add that it has a claimed battery life of 50 hours too. I must admit I was tempted.
