Some of they new type bikes look horrible. What is this trend for putting huge logos over everything? Save that for the pro race bikes. You spend £2k, to advertise the bike for them?

Dusty Lilac's bike is the nicest so far, even though it's clearly built for a giant.

This cost me £100 for the frame, swapped some bits over from an old bike that was given to me, which was too big, and a few quid spent on bits and bobs. Probbly less than £200 all in. Needs an overhaul this Spring; new cranks, wheels, shifters.

Perfect size for me, and goes like the clappers!

Notice 'Max Power' sticker. Makes it even faster.

My VeloVie when it was first built up:

How it looks now with different wheels etc and a whole lot dirtier:

My SS Langster (which was taken to bits last weekend) and I built up a Salsa Casseroll instead (pics to follow) (Frame and forks are for sale)

I can't stand that on road bikes. That and garish multi-colour schemes, looks like an explosion in a paint factory. Road bikes are simple and subtle things, they only need 1 or 2 colours to show them off to their best. Merak, that Litespeed is lovely!

How many times have I posted this, shown with sensible PowerTap2.4 wheelset;

Ghisallo + CK Hset + Ec90slx
Ritchey Carbon stuff
Record 10
Powertap 2.4 wheelset

Cost a bit more than £1k!

£600-£700 of Ebay. Ti frame, carbon forks, record wheels, dura ace 9speed gears. Have changed the Saddle. More than enough for me.

My 2008 S-Works Roubaix. Whole thing cost just under £1400 after buying lots of bargains in various sales. That's including the Dura-Ace 7800 gearset, Fulcrum 5 Evo Wheels and S-works carbon bars.

New tyres to go on for the Summer - then it just needs a nicer saddle and possible some lighter wheels too. Still playing with the handlebar height so won't fully cut down the steerer until I have found a position I am happy with.

Some really lovely bikes on this thread (MTT's Ghisallo my fave). To lower the tone somewhat:

13 months old now. I don't like it much, but its a tool and its racked up some pretty big mileage.

(stack of headset spacers now removed before anyone judges me)

I hope thats not a Lotus even if its not the owner needs to be taken to a place of justice and made to answer for their crimes against bikes.

You reckon?

Didn't put that up before as I thought we were talking road bikes, not TT bikes. Rather pricier than my other one! Hope it meets Merak's approval?

Dusty Lilac another contender:

Mine, built recently with parts from our shed, used to be my dad's old frame. Cost me about £30 to build up. Great fun on the commute to college 😀

Ooh, KS, I'd have killed for Rizla paper clearances like those back in the day. Good work - Reynolds 531? I went all continental with Columbus SL just to be a tart. It's odd looking at my enormous 23 3/4" inch frame now, my MTBs have 17" seat tubes. I don't think I've shrunk.

Yeah it's 531.. the clearances are crazily small. Only problem with it is the BB height is really low, my feet clash if i corner while pedalling (so I dont anymore :P)
Also there's a bot of a foot overlap, but it's still fun and quite sprightly!

Sorry for the delay, yes, I think it's a Hotta but I got it second hand (with the cheap forks). I used it for a few years doing triathlons. Now in the great bike store in the sky (the garage loft).
aracer's looks much better than mine!

This is my Scott CR1, built from parts off Ebay.
Taken half way up the "die another day" climb in Tenerife earlier this year.
Like most of the Tenerife terain, a particularly tough climb of 620m over 6km....lets just say I didnt manage to clear it!

I'm not in the UK! 😉

Having said that, I do have a mk1 Roadster f+f sat at my brothers house in the UK!

I know of a few others with Roadsters, but as you say, not many about.

Some lovely bikes on here. Must admit, busy schedule means I've been getting out on my road bike much more than my mountain bike.

Sorry if the photo's pants- camera phone!
