Seem to be a few bike parks in that neck of the woods - I'm wondering if there is much natural stuff.
Not exactly innsbruck but been a few places off the inn valley.
We've been out with local guides from:
Kirchberg (bike academy). Quite a lot of good techy riding plus some made/marked routes. Bikes welcome on most lifts.
Alpbach (Franz larch). Bikes on some of the lifts, also lift pass free if staying in area.
Also bregenzerwald is quite a good area that gets overlooked (die bike schule at Au). Again lifts were good with free guest pass.
In general the most interesting tracks are not legal - so even with guides we were told to be super polite to anyone we met.
Loads of natural stuff, but you need some local knowledge to find it.
Forestry tracks uphill are well marked and mapped but you need to ride footpaths downhill. You can try your luck yourself on the fp's, worst thing is you end up carrying your bike for a bit.
Innsbruck is getting tight about cycling on footpaths, there was an accident last year so they are trying to clamp down. However, in general you have no problems anywhere else (even a couple of kms away) riding footpaths but you have to know if they're rideable. or not!
I live at the entrance to the Oetz valley, about 30 mins from Innsbruck. Depending on what stuff you ride, there is a bikepark at Brenner, Solden is up and coming as a bike resort, lots of stuff starting to appear on youtube. Wouldnt class it as a bike park though, lots of singletrail that is shared with walkers. Means you can legally ride all the technical stuff.
Nordkette in Innsbruck has a downhill track, never ridden it though. Also stuff down towards Hopfgarten.
All of the above is legal to ride. Many of the walking trails are not meant to be ridden although i have found if you are polite and give way to walkers generally you will have no problems.
If you need anymore info just ask, maybe i can help, have lived here for 13 years. The following website has a few routes on it although i think they tend to be more tours than enduro trails or anything.

Well worth a visit, beautiful place to ride.
Thanks guys - sounds like it's an area worth investigating. Lift assisted techy singletrack is the end goal - and all the best stuff is always hard to find.
The proximity to multiple ski resorts make Innsbruck an attractive option for daydreaming about the future...
If you load the alpenverein app onto your phone, you can get mtb routes on gpx from wherever you are in Austria.

Funny enough, this popped up today and one on the list is Innsbruck with mountain biking being a key reason to go.
That's a great app, iolo - I like the sound of the 'Gipfelknacker' ๐
Great natural stuff around the Stelvio pass and Glurns/ Glorenza. Not that near Innsbruck but still Tirol.
Is there anything like an Austrian equivalent to an OS map?
Kompass produce very good quality 1:25000 & 1:50000 maps, some waterproofed. Not to OS standards, but then I think we are spoilt in that regard.
Walking in Oetztal last summer and Solden appeared to be heavily promoting itself as a summer biking destination, with several guiding/skills businesses and plenty bike shops, most with quality hire bikes.
