I have a Pompino, which came with the standard Inbred flip/flop hub.
I put a 16t freewheel on the screw-on side. Oodles of copperslip etc, so it hasn't seized.
I now want to change the freewheel to a 20t.
Unfortunately, because of what appears to be the design of the hub, I can't get the 16t off.
This is the freewheel on the hub:

This is a rather shakey pic of the Park FR-6 tool, attempting to remove the freewheel. It can't actually reach the splines, because of the cones.

So, you think - remove the cones.
But you can't do that, because there isn't enough clearance to get the cone spanner in around the freewheel:

What do I do? It feels very much like a Catch-22 situation.
I have tried various spanners and mole grips, but they haven't worked either.
I don't particular want to destroy the freewheel, but will if I have to. I can't see any way of getting the outer cover off though - because of those blasted cones!
Any ideas?
Can you take the cones off the other end of the axle, and then slide the axle out?
I have seen removal tools that were significantly deeper than that Park one, ask around at your LBS or look online.

Cheers DB - exactly what I need. Now, I wonder if my LBS would take back the Park one they sold me as 'perfect for the job'...
