Just picked up an 853 inbred sliding dropout frame. Because of the set-up with the sliding dropouts there's about a 1cm gap between the brake caliper fixing points and where the caliper needs to be.

It looks like I need some kind of spacer or adapter the same thickness as the dropout bit to align everyting - anyone else encountered this and found a fix?

You got them with the frame (new) apparently! Had the same trouble when I bought mine second hand. You'll find that you can simply use a couple of those washer things that screw onto presta valves. Had mine running like that for a couple of years.

I've got one too. on one supplied spacers with the frame but any suitably sized washers will do.

Great frames though.

Cheers vdub - i'll try the presta valve thing. Just need to find some longer bolts now!
