Winter trail riding (a wet and muddy Delamere mostly but trips to the Clywds as well)? If so would a 456 be OK with a 100mm fork or does it need longer?
Looking to build a bit of a mud plugger.
be perfect
100mm fork would be ok but a 120mm fork would be better if funds permit.
Inbred 29er ss even better for mud plugging ๐
If you're going to use a 100mm fork and you're not a fat biffer, you'd be better off with a standard Inbred rather than a 456.

Fork not bought or decided upon yet so could get a 120 - or I could take the Talas off my Stumpy for the winter. Funds are def an issue though ๐
I'm guessing that 89kg makes me a bit of a biffa?
I was only half joking ๐ its worth trying out the Inbred 29er with carbon forks. Cheap and perfect in winter (or in my case all year). When I had a 456 I preferred it with forks at 115-120mm.
This might help answer your question.

FWIW I prefer my inbred with the fork set at 120mm.
Thanks guys. Will try and source some 120mm forks.
