My morning commute on Thursday, marred by high winds and earlier than predicted rain, was made worse when my read derailleur cable snapped leaving me in top gear just before the longest climb of the ride.
Riding home gave me an unwilling introduction to the world of single speed cycling and the suspicion that this isn't the ratio that I would have chosen anyway.
In spite of this I just managed to get to my LBS, Psyclewerx of Bristol, before they closed. I was expecting to be riding the MTB to work for a couple of days, but instead they fixed my cable on the spot for a very reasonable £6.
So here is a brief, public, thank you and a recommendation to any riders in Bristol for a very helpful business.
