Anybody else like watching Eric and Yuka? Just watched last weeks video. Really good riding, excellent editing, with an emotional ending!

i cant stand Yuka. Stopped me from watching BCPOV some time ago.

Having said that, it looks like an interesting video, so will take a look.

Cheers for the share!

Yes, she used to grate on me quite a bit, but she's definitely grown on me in recent months. I love her direct approach to features - once she decides to do something she just gets on and does it - and she gently nudges Eric along at times too. With a rapidly progressing MTB wife also, we can both relate to a lot of what they go through!

Yuka and Eric are great. I've watched their channels more consistently than others.
I also really appreciate that they don't hide the mental battles of progression. Eric's a much better rider than me, but i really empathise with him battling through something that is within his ability but is daunting. The video above really emphasises that and i got a proper shiver at the end of it.

Worth looking back through their channels for their trips to Japan and Mexico

I quite like Yuka.
Her progression has been cool to watch.
Also great for Mrsstu to see other females trying new stuff and getting better.
She's got balls that's for sure.

She's metaphorically got king kong's swingers - Some of the drops and jumps she's sent put's a lot of the keyboard warriors out there to shame. There was one drop to flat she did with no hesitation that had the two very good riders they were with speechless.

Yeah, she winds me up too.

But... (and I know this literally ISN'T the point of the thread, so forgive me..), Skills with Phil's OH/wife is EVEN more annoying... her voice seems like a joke!

Anyway..rant over!

They are great videos - his honesty is something else. I do wonder how many other Instabangers just complete multiple takes / sessions and only ever show the 'best' one? Eric lays it all out there, and I find it heartening, as someone who rarely lets his wheels off the ground!

Personally, I like Yuka. It amazes me that someone so new to the sport can just hit stuff like she does first time. Pretty inspiring.

Also, and potential brag, but I actually met them both in a lift queue earlier this year. I had no idea who he was, so stealthily looked him up whilst in the queue next to him. He's quite the celebrity in Canada at least. Anyway, I can confirm that both he and Yuka are every bit as nice as they appear on film.

That's good to hear!

BKXC is someone who i used to watch alot, but he does my head in now. His whooping and yhewing on even tame trails grates me.
BCPOV and McTrail rider are more my style as whilst they aren't the most natural in front of the camera, their videos seem more honest about the trails and their abilities.

Loved that. I really felt the emotion when he cleared it.

I emphasise completely. Standing at the top of something you know you can do. If you just let go of the brakes. Getting stuck in your own head and over thinking stuff.

At least he won.

You do get used to it after a few mins though, I must admit. Then it's very watchable. I had to mute his (spoiler apologies) breakdown at the end though!

I think she's good - watching her (as a pretty average rider) do the pro-line version of dirt merchant (and hang it up a bunch, with minimal consiquence) helped me gain the confidence to hit it. It was well within my capabilities, but only watching pros smash down it doesn't give a great feel for it

i enjoy his videos. i live in the same town as bcpov. i’ve never met him, but i have seen/ridden some of the trails in his videos. as usual, everything is steeper and bigger and narrower in the flesh.

Thought that was great video, never watched much of them before. Liked how he showed the multiple attempts like others have said above. Makes it a better video in my mind rather than another hero vid, I could see me doing exactly the same as him when I got to that step up, except without the last version probably. Yuka seemed amazing - just a few attempts and she nailed it

I took me a while to get BCPOV as at first I thought his voice & presentation was quite dull. Now BCPOV and Van girl Yuka are about the only youtubers that don't grate on me. BKXC. McTtrail etc are just annoying with their whooping and yeboy over every bump in a trail.
Yuka's progression has been amazing over the past couple of years and her videos are always entertaining. Eric has had a couple of injuries and he's more cautious now. The more Yuka's confidences grows, Eric appears to lose his and it's now Yuka who's pulling him into features.

I think they all do it to a greater or lesser extent don't they? I mean after all, eventually watching a POV of someone cycling a trail gets a bit dull. Even wild stuff, like Metailler and Barelli do gets a bit, well normalised after a bit as their both such accomplished riders, you know that regardless of how sketchy it is, they'll probs manage it,

Aye, definitely, it needs to be mixed up a bit, as the one on the OP is, no one likes just watching endless reams of POV stuff. McTrials drone stuff is really good, much better to watch than POV, but not as much work as it is to constantly stop and set up shots to be edited together.

Kudos to them though, I canny be arsed taking the gopro out, never mind doing all that shit! 🙂

Aye, I once tried to edit a bunch of clips together from a cycling holiday, and the final effort was sooo bad. The editing and making a watchable video is much much harder that the riding.

Absolutely, I've a few mates that have channels, and it's something they enjoy doing, sitting editing, adding in B-roll, even producing their own music for it. It's not easy.

Edit - **** it, I'm for the gopro out this weekend

That’s one of the best videos I’ve seen! The determination to succeed is only surpassed by the emotion when he finally does. Refreshing honesty in these days of filters and clever edits.

Yuka really sent it too! Awesome!

I can't get past their voices which I know is my problem not theirs, but gawd how could you marry someone who talks like a 4yo child?

I like Stopadoodledo & TommyC Hype because they do quality swears.

Cant stand either of them. Have that false positive attitude that Americans and Canadians love, but also he somehow manages to come across as a little bitch at the same time.

Watching him try over and over for up to 5 minutes to man up and do a jump, that his mrs did first time with much less experience. Yawn

Just because someone else can do a jump doesn't mean it's easy. I'll bet out of any 100 people on here at least 80 of them couldn't do that trail properly.

Great vid. Normally I can't stand his voice. Reminds me of Garfield.

He wound himself up so much though. I'm happy he did it eventually.

I prefer BKXC but it's usually on with the sound off and music on. Only so many "yeww" and "ha ha" I can handle.

Ha ha. I often wonder why I ask "How's things / how's it going? etc" when meeting a Canadian (which is every day....) as without fail they claim that everything is fantastic. No wonder therapy and 'wellness' is big business over here.
He could have been a little more enthusiastic when his missus cleared the jump! Props for not going 'Yeeww' straight after every feature though. that's like nails down a chalk board for me.
