Weather looks "fun". Was planning edale to come down Jacobs to finish but just wondering if it feels too exposed.
I've cried off the peaks today going to stay on my local runs..Sherwood forest Clumber etc...been out with the dog and it's far to windy for the peaks for me
The forecast is poor for today up until 3pm, tomorrow looks better.
Id happily ride Jacob's today, in fact I might. It's wet and windy, but mild and the surface up there is still mostly good, or it was on Christmas Day. I wouldn't go up Chapel Gate at the moment btw, it's 4x4-churned sludge and, I'm guessing, the grassy bit of Chapel Gate will be quite moist right now. Roych is okay bar the odd sludge hole. Middle Moor, if you fancy extending things, is a tad messy...
I'd probably go for rocky trails like Pin Dale, Oxlow Rake, Shatton Moor (mast side), Mam Tor broken road, Roych Clough, Edale Cross or some of the Ladybower ones though all the flatter top bits will be muddy. Or maybe head south Peak and do some of the trail around Bakewell, over towards Rowsley, plenty of gravel track stuff over thaqt way if you can enjoy the ride without too much techy stuff. Make ot a day to discover a new cafe and drink plenty o' tea.
We did a fairly classic edale loop. chapel gate, sunken road, roych, Coldwell, Jacob's to finish. good fun but very wet and very tiring.
